Picture #124

Captian and Cheif were still on the field trip at the begining of the awards ceremony.  So Mr Retkey, a retired military subsitute teacher stood to the side to help the cadets carry on.  Cadet John Giamanco took charge and made it a great ceremony, with help from other cadets.
Captian came walking in, rather fast, to the award ceremony as soon as he got to the venue.  Those cadets who went on the field trip to San Diego with Captian anc Cheif missed the first half of the award ceremony.  We were all happy to have them back.
I love Craig's shocked face.  One of the awards Samanth earned was the National Scholar Althetic Award from the United Stated Army Reserve.
Samantha is an awesome cadet.

Today it is really a go.  The plane is here and the cadets will get to go on their trip to San Diego.  Samantha did roll call and gave minimal instructions.  Then chief told the cadets to follow one of the gentlemen from the plane crew.

The cadets walked onto the tarmak and helped to load their gear into the plane.  This is defintely a different experience than a commercial jet!

The cadets entered the rear of the plane.  Captian entered the front of the plane!

They are in their air, on their way!  Have a great time and learn lots!

Captian Farley telling the NJROTC cadets that their flight to SanDiego has been cancelled, due to electrical problems.  They were able to reschedule another navy plane for tuesday morning.  All the cadets were bummed that they could not leave on Sunday.

So the kids had coupons for free food from Chick-fil-A. So I took them. We got $14.13 worth of free food - Love it!! I like that our local Chick-fil-A has fresh flowers at their tables.

Raeleigh, Samantha and I played a games of Yatzee. Jordan and Stuart watched Addi in the play area.

This is Addi looking out of the tire of the Cow Mobile that is in the second story of the play area. She had so much fun. This was a great hour spent with my kids.

My friend Robin Hagan is a great person. I have so much fun with her. After being with Robin, I feel refreshed. The Lord has really blessed me with Robin as my awesome friend!! I love my Robin. Robin is a professional photographer, I think that she is the best. She has been taking my kids pictures for the last five years. Notice the smile she has when behind the camera!
There was just enough wind that Samantha and Raeleigh had to take turns holding the flash unbrella. I love to watch my kiddos have their pictures taken. They deffintely pose better for someone else!
Addi came with us, she had a great time playing in the sand. Robin took these pictures on Saturday evening - It was such a great evening!!

Samantha called from school yesterday. She had forgotten her NJROTC uniform and need me to bring it to her IMMEDIATELY. So I ran her uniform to school and went with four cadets and Chief to a recruiting trip to the middle school. Above are the pamphlets that were passed out to interested students.
Kelly Tucker, Lyle Seda and Chief Scott Williams hmmm.....what are they talking about?
Samantha, Addison and Jessica Martin listening to chiefs recuriting spill! Hopefully this trip was successful and the unit will see new cadets next year.

The Blue Angels (Navy) Pilots are in town to fly at the international air show. One Pilot and two mechanics came to meet the NJROTC students today. The unit was a buzz with anticipation. Samantha is pictured above with the pilot and below with all three.
She said that it was fun to met them, but she was really tired.

Samantha had 3 friends come over to bake on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. They had a great time and made lots of goodies. Above is Addi, Raeleigh, Chelsea, Amy and Samantha. Cassie is pictured below.

The girls made cake-pops, cupcakes, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies, banana nut bread, and slushes. It was a couple of days of laughter!!

A family day is always a great day for pictures. These pictures were taken at the Gamble Mansion. Craig and the kids, it took quite a while to get everyone balanced on the log. This huge cast iron bowl was used in a sugarmill. We had a great time playing in it. I rocked Samantha back and forth until I was laughing so much I couldn't stand up!
That is a lot of people in one bowl. We did tip the bowl backwards!
There were these log benches by the picnic area, the kids had lots of fun trying to knock each other off.
This is a funny picture. Samantha and Jordan on cell phones. Craig and I reading brochures. Stuart and Addi playing hand games.
