Read Across America

The middle school has a big celebration for a week in March. All about reading. One day of the week communities members are invited to come in and read to classes. Morgan and I have been volunteer readers for the last 3 years. It is great. Mrs Bailey, the schools libraian is incharge of the event along with a reading teacher.Ms. Sandy Barthlomew, Ms. Linda Bailey (two of Morgan's favorites from her days as a student at the school. Also Ms Barthlomew was one of Craig's high school teachers.), Rachel, Morgan & Addison and me

Ms Vickie Kessel, one of Morgan's seventh grade teachers.

Taxes

Every first time tax payer should have an awesome dad to help them figure it out!

A sunny day

The sun is out and it is a beautiful day!! So we went to the park. Morgan's friend Kelli came with us. There is a cool Banyan tree at this park the kids love to climb and it is perfect for pictures.

My beautiful almost nine year old! Raeleigh

Stuart loves the train at this park. He has loved trains since her was little tiny!

Still not liking tummy time

I love these pictures of Addison. She still does not like tummy time. However she can push her chest futher up and will play if someone is on the floor with her. I love her little scrunched up mad face. So Cute.

Samantha's 2nd Cool Exerience in one week!

Samantha, also known as Cadet Webecke, is in the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) at her high school. Samantha has done very well in the ROTC and enjoys is. She was thrilled when they opened up the armed drill team to girls in January.

On Wed. March 17th the NJROTC area manager, Herbert (pronounced A-ber) came to inspect our cadets. This first picture is of the three platoons.

Cadet Webecke was the only female in the armed platoon. I must add that Samantha was so excited to be marching and spinning the riffle. Cadet Webecke is in the last row on the right.

Hebert was impressed with the cadets. He gave them all outstanding on their uniforms. He also said that they are the best group of cadets that this high school has had since 2003. Herbert sad that this is a "new dawn" for the NJROTC program at this high school.
In this picture Herbert is inspecting Samantha. She was the last of the cadets to get her inspection.

Chief Williams, Cadet Webecke and Captain Farley
Chief told me that Samantha has excellent military barring, he would like her to command on of the drill teams next year, she in the best freshman cadet he has seen, he is impressed with Samantha's riffle spinning ability.
Captain said that Samantha is a bright light in their program, she has great athletic ability and in the strongest girl they have.
After the inspection was completely over, we parents also got to meet Herbert. He was complimentary to Cadet Webecke. He said that she has flawless marching, her forearm is parallel to the deck, good form and she had an outstanding uniform!
Way to go SAMANTHA!!

Way to GO, Samantha!

Samantha had some cool things happen last week.

On Monday, March 15, 2010 I went with Samantha to her basketball banquet. She had a great and learning basketball season. She started out on the JV team as a starter. By mid seasons there were four injuries on the varsity team and Samantha was moved up along with Mallory and Nady. Samantha was so excited for this new opportunity. She worked hard all season. Craig and I were very excited for her.

While Coach Robishaw was introducing "Sam" (as most everyone else calls her!), he said the following things about her:

  • has great athletic ablity
  • a good jumper
  • remembers coaching against her in middle school
  • good sportsmanship
  • pumped up when she scores!
  • coordination will come (just after he said this Samantha stood up and knocked her chair into the table!)
  • either watches a lot of basketball of is just an animal (her teammates said "animal")

Samantha recieved her Varsity letter at the banquet and is looking forward to getting her jacket!
