Addi and I had spent most of the morning uploading pictures on the ROTC computer. Now we were headed back to take a few pictures. Addi saw the stairs and wanted to go up. However that was not the direction of where we needed to be. This is her pout when I told her that we were not going up the stairs.

There are a lot of pictures for this day!! Samantha went with her NJROTC unit to a drill competition.
Samantha competed individually for the first time. She has been talking about doing this for the last two years. Look at that great military bearing!
I love the sharpness of this move. I know that still shots make it hard to imagine. But believe me it was awesome!
The rifle weighs about 8lbs. I would be tired after just carrying it. Her routine of 5 minutes 45 seconds took lots more muscle than to just hold the rifle.
Spinning the riffle in any way you can!
Congratulations to my amazing daughter!!
Yep, that is her first place medal!! Samantha had a unique and difficult routine. She performed well and used great military bearing to recover even when she dropped the riffle.
There were 21 schools at the competition. Charlotte High's unit took: 1st in armed basic,4th in unarmed basic (Samantha commanded), 5th in overall drill, Zach Frohn took 2nd in academics, Samantha Webecke took 1st in Female Individual Drill.

Addi greeted me right when I came the house. This is what she was wearing - a diaper, sweater that is buckles (buttoned) and a blanket as a cape! The best part of the outfit was her smile. So I decided this had to be my picture of the day.
I have no idea why she calls buttons buckles!

This picture is honor of my Grandma, Janet Wheatly Marsh. On January 14 she would have been 94 years old. This is a picture of Grandma and I looking at pictures. Grandma had alzhemiers, at this point, she could not remember much. We went through a couple of baskets of family photos that evening. Grandma was amazed at how much I could tell her about the our family members in each photo. I am so grateful that I had this special moment with Grandma. She is a women I greatly admire. Grandma is kind, loving, compassionate, strong in her faith, a good wife and mother and grandmother. I am excited to see her again when I pass through the veil.

Stuart came home from school excited try an experiment. He watched some of his classmates use batteries and tinfoil to light a lightbulb. He gathered all the supplies and went to work.
I think this picture is so funny. Stuart is using one hand to hold the light blub. The other hand and chin are holding the foil onto the batteries.
This is one very disappointed Stuart. His experiment did not work.

Watch or Look
Addi's new favorite words are: "WATCH" or "LOOK". She loves to tell us she is watching. When Addi wants us to see what she is doing, she say "look". It is funny because she will repeat herself until we pay attention!

This picture is the result of an accident on January fourth. So I decided to use this pic for that day. I was doing laundry and the bleach bottle slipped out of my hand. The bleach splashed in my eye, on my jacket and eveything else in the area!
My eye burned like crazy. I could not see to use my phone, so I pressed the button that would call the last person dialed. My nephew picked up. I told him that I need him to call Craig. In my panic state, I realized that he might not know what I meant. So I asked for my mom. Mom got on the phone and I told her what had happened and to call Craig. While I waited for Craig to come home I flushed my eye at the kitchen sink. Addi stood by and watched.
When my eye was clear enough to see my phone, I called the eye doctor. They told me to flush the eye for 15 minutes straight. By this time Craig was home. He walked me upstairs and helped me in the shower so I could flush my eye. 15 minutes can be a long time!
The end of the story is that my eye is fine and I have one less jacket to wear.

This picture was not taken on January 3rd, but I love what the girls did. So I am including it for #3 picture!! During the new years party, Morgan and our friend Jordan, stamped butterflies on the walls in Addi's bedroom. I am so happy with the result. The girls worked/played hard for me that night. Addison's mouth dropped when we showed her the butterflies - she was happy too!

I did not take this picture on January 2, but this is what I am posting for that day. I love Addi's face in this picture and the food lets us know that she often get away without having her face washed.
Beginning My Journey of a Picture a Day!
My friend Robin Hagan is doing a 365 project. She is taking a picture every day and posting it on facebook. I decided to copy the idea. So here is my picture from January 1, 2012.
Backrow: Jordan M, Morgan, Samantha, Carson (behind him is Robert), Raeleigh (behind her is Jacob), Linda, Stuart being pushed into the picture by Dad.
Front Row: Jaycee, Jamie, Jordan W, Teal, Ashley, Julianne
The youth New Years Eve Party at the church got canceled. So the kids invited their friends over her. It was CRAZY and a lot of fun! This picture was taken a few minutes after the new year began.
