Our county has a program called CARE. It stands for Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies. For our Relief Society meeting in February we had one of CARE representatives come and talk to us. She gave a lot of statistics and told us about their program. For about a month, the sisters had been bringing in supplies to donate to the center. We ended up with an entire table of items.
We filled baskets with the items. We put the above tags on the full baskets, hoping to pass on love to the victims the baskets will go to. When a women (and her children) come to the center to escape they will be given a basket.
Filling the baskets was like shopping without the checkout line. Most women love to shop that way!!
Raeleigh and her Activity Girls also helped with this service. They put these little hygine kits together for the children that come into the center.
